In October of 2013 I embarked upon a 10-city European tour with Dave Owen (Indianapolis/UK) and Nik “Calculon” Bordakoff (San Diego, California). The tour kicked-off at an enormous high-energy Drum and Bass only club in Madrid, Spain called TWIST. We played all night to the locals, wrapped up at about 4am and then boarded planes to separate destinations for our own respective shows. I travelled on to Toulouse, France and them to Dublin, Ireland. We would later meet up in Athens, Greece where we played at a smaller more quaint venue called “Loop”. Our hosts, were fantastic and it was here I met talented local producer MJT. From Athens we flew over to Sofia, Bulgaria where we would meet Gridlok, LTJ Bukem, and MC Stamina backstage to just hang and recharge for our next show in Timisoara, Romania. The show in Romania was insane!! Located underground in a WWII bunker, we were greeted to a packed house of true Romanian dnb fans. We rocked the bunker until sun up and were escorted by our Army security guard directly to the airport where we would fly to Amsterdam, Netherlands. In Amsterdam we would play a popular venue on Priz Hendrikkade named Winston Kingdom with well-known and respected Dutch producer and DJ, Lenzman. Struggling to find energy, we managed to ‘pick up the pace’ of the night and melt as many faces as we could with heavy bass music. The tour continued on to Berlin for a quick stop at Cassiopeia and a grand finale at FABRIC in London to open for LTJ Bukem. In London I was fortunate to meet my two uncles, my brother, and my mate from University back home. I gained the wisdom from them to write about my journey through europe, and how music inspired it all. Through all the experiences, it is by no coincidence that it was produced by the one and only Dave Owen, who I shared all these memories with. With all this said, I proudly introduce to you, my “Travelogue“.
